A Work of Fiction

I always laugh at this part, but in a deeper sense it’s kind of awesome. Frodo has this object and there’s a 99% chance that this object is going to kill all of them, that they’re going to fail this mission. That everything they know and care about will most likely disappear. And all of these people have volunteered to help Frodo. Some are doing it out of honor and duty, some are doing it so they can be there to protect him, and some are doing it because an elf is going and he doesn’t want the dwarf race to be left out. But Pippin has absolutely no idea, He hasn’t really grasped the implications of all of this and what might happen. He’s not going because he’s strong or powerful, or because they need him AT ALL, he’s going because that’s where is friends are going. He’s only just mildly interested to know they’re destination, the fact that he’s been allowed to come, that he’s not being left behind, is enough.
